This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school, and I have enjoyed watching every kindergarten student of mine blossom through the various learning styles given to them with wonderful and caring teachers through their magnificent teaching styles.
I am a firm believer that a kindergarten classroom should be a welcoming place where students are comfortable enough to focus their attention on learning.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life and energy, ready to learn about exciting and new adventures that await them. Even the ones who are challenged come in eager to learn. They want to give their best in all that they do. I like to compare their brains to little sponges, gathering up all of the information like the sponge gathers the water and then releasing it to show what power they have gained through learning.
My Project
By adding these awesome materials in my kindergarten classroom, our Math Work Station will continue to grow and enhance my students' math skills.
These materials will help engage their minds in learning how to count, graph and understand the meaning of one -to-one correspondence.
Being able to have hands on experience with counting, graphing, number recognition, will be a great advantage to their actual learning about how numbers work.. My students will be able to use these materials during whole group, small group time, and independent practice.
Wow, what an awesome experience this would be for some of my struggling learners. Early intervention brings about much success in learning.
