Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The love of learning begins at a very early age! My classroom is full of very active little learners. Our children attend a Title I school that is located in an urban, high-poverty community, where 96% of the students are economically disadvantaged.

The majority of my students are either homeless or come from single-parent homes, which causes them to have limited access to everyday learning materials.

It is hurtful to say that so many of them have been through much more in their short 3-5 years than any of us could ever imagine. Even with that being said, they somehow find a way to come to school every day eager and ready to learn.

My Project

My kiddos are eager little learners from a Title I school that is located in an urban; high poverty community, where 96% of the students are economically disadvantaged. As a Preschool teacher it is my goal to expose as much technology to my students as possible. Unfortunately, this can not be done to its full potential without a laptop.

Having a laptop in the classroom will provide more opportunity for enhancement as the students' develop in the 21st-century information age.

With a laptop the students will be able to improve their collaborative learning skills, have access to thousands of educational apps, take virtual field trip, and gain an appreciation of a world other than their own community.

What better way to do this but on a screen. By providing my students with a classroom laptop, it will benefit my current and future classes.
