My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher in a Title1 school. My students come from various backgrounds; more than half are from low income families. The end of the year expectation is the same for al of my students to be READERS and writers. Kindergarteners are full of excitement, energy, and for some, this is their first experience in a school setting. I am all ways looking for new ways to engage my students with fun, hands-on activities that will reach all learners. I want to make this the best first year of kindergarten and school for these kids. I want my classroom a fun place to work and play.

My Project

Kindergarten is really one of the most important grades for learning foundational literacy skills. This coming year more than ever due to Covid-19, it will be an essential year to make the most of our learning and be really efficient. My co-teacher and I have spent countless hours researching the best way to do this. We are excited to implement a new phonics program by Really Great Reading based on the Science of Reading called Countdown . We would like to purchase the teacher manuals and the Countdown student kits.
