Ms. Gallareta from Baltimore MD is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a countdown timer in the classroom which is large enough for them to see and a magnetic white board to serve as a classroom station.

My scholars are smart, driven, and most importantly, ambitious. When we talk about the future and where they see themselves after high school, each one of them always says college is the dream. They want to be engineers, surgeons, veterinarians, and educators themselves. Despite deficiencies and learning disabilities, these students consistently put everything they have into learning more and doing better.
I teach at a Title I school where the neighborhood is known for gun violence and racial inequality.
Despite what they have to walk through to get here, my students come to school knowing the way up is through education, and as their teacher, they inspire me every day.
In our classroom, we will be using the giant countdown timer on a daily basis. In order for students to learn how to manage their time well, it is important for them to have a visual they can refer to. The giant timer will allow students to quickly, easily, and independently check how much time they have left to complete a given assignment or assessment.
The magnetic white board will serve as a classroom station.
Classroom jobs will be posted and designated with a magnetic pin, so students know which jobs they are responsible for in a given week. It will also be a place for outstanding student work to be posted and displayed for all to see!!
