My students are energetic and enthusiastic learners who live in a culturally diverse community. They are constantly eager to learn all they can about the world around them, how things work, and the people that live in their community.
My students are very interested in how they can make a difference in the world.
When they see a problem, they like to create solutions to try. If the first solution doesn't work, they put their heads together and try a new solution.
My Project
My students need practice with money! To help master the value of each coin, I am requesting self inking coin stamps and count it up money rods. Students will use these supplies to practice adding different denominations of money and to practice their money skills. Upon completing each activity, students will earn classroom money that they can spend in our store. The picture books and the Lego bricks will be items that students can save their classroom money on. Having these items in our store will help them learn how to set financial goals, save their money, and then make wise purchases. These are important life skills and it is important to lay the groundwork for these skills now.
I want my students to have a strong sense of financial literacy and these supplies will help them build a solid foundation of the skills.
