My Project

The Counselor’s Calming Corner will be a space in the counselor’s office where students in crisis can safely calm down while using research proven calming techniques, such as sensory displays/sounds/toys, a soothing rocker chair, and other items that allow students to use positive distraction and learn self-regulation. My main goal is to provide every student in the school with a space to regulate emotions, mind and body, and allow a safe, calm return to class. This project also helps many students work toward the Goals & Objectives identified in their IEPs.
