My Students

We are a small-town, high school with a large number of first-generation and financially challenged students. We have 4 counselors working with 2000+ students. Most of our student body aspires to attend college but less than half actually complete a degree. We want to facilitate activities that will increase our post-secondary education enrollment and ultimately certificate or degree attainment. As a result, we need help funding support to host activities that promote a college-going culture for students in grades 9-12. Thank you!

My Project

A laptop screen projector will let students see presentations given by counselors in the classroom. Specifically, they need to be able to see research regarding post-secondary plans, work-based learning options, and college research. Classroom presentations will help students research their futures and make better decisions about the options they have available after high school. By having the ability to project their work other students in a class can benefit from everyone else's research and content knowledge. In addition, students will be able to locate class presenters on various career topics and will have a way for local business people to present information to the class.
