My students are creative, hard working and love learning. There are about 575 students in our K-5 Title 1 school. My school is in Oregon City, fun fact it is the end of the Oregon Trail. As the school counselor, I teach ALL of the students. I teach about really BIG and important topics.
My students love learning about their feelings, emotions and how to be positive people.
They are brave, kind and courageous. I love teaching them and they love to learn.
My Project
I love reading to my students. I always read a book with each classroom lesson. As a new counselor I don't have very many books yet, so this will help start my collection. I am excited to have some books that relate to the big topics I teach.
Kindness, mindfulness, empthy, friendship and compassion are skills I focus on with my students.
I think writing down a worry and feeding it to the Worry Monster will be a big hit with my students. They will love feeding their worry away. And stress squishies are just something that every counselor needs in her room.
