My students are awesome! They come from a lower socioeconomic background. Some of my students have disabilities that run the spectrum. Our school has a large percentage of students who receive free or reduced-price lunch. They sometimes come to school having to deal with things beyond their control that can make their day a little difficult.
My students are you when you were little.
Despite the obstacles they face, my students are eager and ready to learn. They are amazing little people who are overcoming their struggles.
My Project
Books are a great way to provide students with examples of the topics we talk about during counseling lessons. Whether it's talking about feelings, fairness, getting along, or bullying showing kiddos how characters handle these situations creates a great foundation for learning!
My kiddos love to read!
Having a variety of books can draw in even the most difficult student. Students love to see literary examples of the topics we are discussing. I love to add books to my counseling library to help kiddos deal with their real life struggles. Some requested books include Waiting Is Not Easy!, Calm with The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Giraffe Problems, and The Color Monster: A Pop-Up Book of Feelings.
A good book can help impact a students life for years to come!
