Help me give my students new seating spaces that will help them transition into the new school year! Most of what's great about my new seating choices is that they are easily moved around the classroom!
After having this time off in quarantine, I thought about how the transition of learning will change how they learn coming back into the classroom.
My students, more than ever will need different seating options that will ease this transition as much as possible. My school is also HUGE on flexible seating because school is not about learning how to sit in a seat, it's about what the student is learning. I know from my experience the last three quarters that ALL of my children learn differently as well as learn better in different spots of the room. I can't wait to be able to really broaden my flexible seating options.
My Project
I am so excited about these materials. They will help my students feel safe transitioning back into the classroom. It is going to be a huge adjustment being out for so many months that they are going to be so used to sitting on the couch, bed, or outside! I want to be able to provide my students with as much seating flexibility as possible that allows them to have more home-like choices. My students this past school year have loved sitting pretty much anywhere other than a real seat. They enjoy taking soft cushions out to the hallway too. Since most of these seating choices are able to be carried so easily, they will be able to take their choice anywhere they decide to work, this in turn will help my students focus on their learning rather than sitting.
