Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

There are very few electives offered at our school this year and I have full classes of differing ages and grades. My students enjoy physical education class because it gives them a break from academics and sitting in a desk. Kids need to get up and move around at some point during the day so they can be ready to focus when it matters in class. I have many students where PE is a place they excel because physical movement is their strength.

My Project

My students like to have a variety of activities in which to participate. With few electives offered at our school, I often will have students for several years in a row.

They get tired of doing the same units and I believe getting materials for cornhole would be a great way to get students active.

I want to offer students the opportunity to learn and participate in physical activities that students can be good at regardless of their physical ability. This activity is low impact but will allow students to work together on teams and focus on eye hand coordination.
