This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are marvelous, challenging and refuse to settle for less. They come to school excited and ready to challenge the world. And I love that enthusiasm and I love that they refuse to settle. They know that they deserve the best and they demand the best.
It is a journey to discover how to serve them every single day.
It is my pleasure to send them off to High school ready for College.
Our school is a Title I school in Atlanta where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students are facing many socioeconomic challenges that hinder their academic success. As I observe them interact with one another, enthused in a lesson, I regain my conviction that a future is possible and achievable for all my students.
My Project
With limited budgets everywhere and programs getting cut, the essentials always seemed the first to go. Our kids are the ones that suffer the most when the essentials are eliminated.
We can not cut corners with the future of our children when it comes to the essentials that they need for success.
I always tell my students to turn in their work typed and printed out. I stressed the importance of presentation when it comes to their work.
The copy paper will allow the students to email their work so they can get printed out in the classroom. No more assignments are written out but everything will be typed up and nicely printed.
