Could you imagine having to wait at least a week in order to have copies made?!? We had only one copy machine in our school to make copies for the 32 classes that are in our school! The copy machine just broke and it will be a few weeks until they can fix it!
I teach a 12:1:1 special education class of fourth and fifth graders who are diverse in many different ways.
Our school is in a very low socioeconomic community with a school that barely even has a budget. Our school is struggling to provide these students with the basic supplies needed in each classroom!
My Project
I spend endless nights differentiating work in order to meet the needs of all my students. In our school the teachers are not allowed to use the copy machine! We have to submit the copies on a form, which then needs to be approved by an administrator. Once it is approved it is given back to the teacher and then a specified aide can make copies for you. If I need a few copies in order to meet the needs of all my students I have to make sure that I planned for that lesson well in advance. It can take over a week to receive just a few copies. This process is very time consuming, especially when I could be spending this time devoted to more important things. Please help us out so that we will can have one less stress in the classroom!
I would be able to share this copy machine with other teachers for minor copying jobs as well.
