Help me give my students tools to help them to regulate and manage their emotions. This includes a comfy beanbag chair, a my moods flipchart, a storybook, an emoji feelings chart, and sensory fidget toys.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are amazing. I love my students natural curiosity for learning new concepts and how they will go lengths to acquire new information. They really work hard to meet their personal goals. Our school is a Leader in Me school in which our students learn tools to become leaders.

My Project

The beanbag chair, sensory toys, and storybook can all help my students to desensitize and regulate their emotions in the classroom. This will also help them to avoid escalating behaviors they will lead to negative consequences. The emoji chart and my moods flipchart will help my students to identify what they are feeling and then help them to address their feelings with ideas to cope with them. The flipchart has each emotion and picture for each emotion using an emoji. My students love emojis and it will help them to associate with what they are feeling.
