Coping Skills to the Rescue!

Help me give my students the tools they need to regulate their emotions and learn skills that will benefit them throughout their teen and adult years!

My Project

After 8 years as a School Psychologist in various Elementary Schools I have FINALLY graduating to Middle School! This also means that I need some new curriculum and rewards for my students. Research shows that students are struggling with more anxiety, depression, and executive functioning problems than ever before. Now is the time to intervene. Now, more than ever, these students need evidence based practices and caring adults to set them on a trajectory for success.

The books I have selected will teach my students vital social emotional and life skills in order to set them up for success in middle school, high school, and life beyond school!

Included in my wish list are two books that apply Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to a school setting. DBT is a type of cognitive behavior therapy that teach people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others. I have also included an Anxiety Workbook specifically for teens as well as a Teachers Pay Teachers Gift card in order to buy some resources that go along with that workbook and other Social Emotional Learning resources. Everyone needs a little motivation now and again while learning new skills, so I have included a refill on their favorite rewards for their growing minds and bodies, which is, of course, food! Let's set these students up right and give them the skills they need!
