As a teacher of a low-socioeconomic school my kids face many challenges each and everyday inside the classroom and at home. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch each day and our school was one of the lowest achieving in recent years, but we are working our way to the top!
My students know that I will be there everyday with a hug and a smile to remind them that they are in a safe place here at school and that we all care about them.
Each one of us loves working with students and strive to provide them with experiences that show them what the world is like, that they may have never had. Our goal is to challenge and engage our students in every activity.
All of my students want to learn how machines work! Coding involves high-interest activities while creating projects that involve creative input. Coding also teaches kids how software engineers use math to solve problems in creative ways!
Using these STEM robots, my students can learn valuable problem solving techniques; like how to work cohesively in groups to design and implement activites for their robots to do!
Every student will have the opportunity to extend their learning and develop skills that aren't as easily acquired from a textbook. Using these robots, will help them see the world a bit different and open their eyes to possibilities they didn't know that existed!
