Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a fantastic school with fantastic students. Unfortunately, many of our students also come from economically disadvantaged households. 100% of our population qualified to receive free breakfast and lunch prior to the pandemic. Fall and Winter are quickly approaching. We live outside of Los Angeles and it does not get extremely cold here, but it is cold enough to need a sweater or jacket from October through March.
Many students come to school without a jacket and just wearing short sleeved shirts during these months.
I'd like to provide my whole class with a zip up hoodie to keep them warm this year. In addition to providing these for my class, I also asked for a few extra to have on hand to support additional students as needed.
