My students range in age from 3 to 6 years old and have been diagnosed with autism or a related disorder. They spend five days a week in my class and stay with me for two or three years. These kids are overwhelmed by their senses and come to me with little or no ability to communicate, often having little connection to the people and the world around them.
However, just because they have trouble speaking, does not mean they have nothing to say!
My job is to help my students meet their full potential, focusing on building connections with people and facilitating communication development.
My Project
We our so excited to be moving into a bigger classroom (with a bathroom!) that has much more space for learning, exploring, discovering, and playing.
Our new classroom needs these requested Kids Colors round tables for small group activities, centers, snacks, and sensory play.
Sitting in smaller groups will allow for fewer distractions, more individualized attention, and flexible grouping of students for specific needs and activities.
The Lakeshore tables that I am asking for are shorter than the tables we currently use and will be more comfortable for my little preschool learners. It's hard to learn when you can barely see over the table!
