Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are apart of a great dual language program where they receive instruction in English and Spanish. In the program, the students learn to read, speak, and think in both languages that will help them tremendously in their future.
My students are happy, caring, and loving children.Their enthusiasm to come to school everyday is shown through their work ethic as they work and complete assignments.
Their motivation and dedication to try and do their best is the greatest reward of teaching.
My Project
Kindergarten is a time where children are beginning to explore their feelings and how to handle them. At times, this can be very hard for our young learners, and we need to teach them how to handle their emotions.
My kindergartners will be able to use the teepee as a place to cool down and reflect on their own actions and thoughts with sensory toys.
We will encourage the students to use this cool down space as a place to reflect on their actions and use cool down strategies that we will teach in our lessons. Using this space, I hope to bring a more positive atmosphere to the classroom and that they use these strategies outside the classroom.
