Help me give my students eight Chromebooks inside the classroom this year.

I have the honor of teaching an amazing group of high energy 8th graders. This year's group of scholars love learning. It's interesting because as soon as the lesson begins, they follow right along with me. They hunger and thirst for knowledge. As their teacher, I want to give them everything they need and more. Yes, my days are long and I come home exhausted, but I know that I am giving my all because they are inquisitive and enjoy my lessons. They truly ARE the ideal classroom.
ALL students in Chicago deserve an equitable education!!
My students always talk about how their friends and family members go to schools where they have Smart boards and chrome carts in their classroom. They know that the technology is out there and they want it in our classroom. My scholars love to ask the "What if..." questions. Those questions can be answered with this donation.
My students desire to use technology in our math classroom to do research, look up trends, and create flowcharts or to do PowerPoint Presentations. I am reaching out to DonorsChoose.org because I only have the one computer on my desk, and my personal tablet in the classroom. In an ideal world, I would love for each of my students to have their own Chromebook cart in my classroom. But, unfortunately, the Chrome cart of 25 working computers must be shared daily between 138 students which equates to 5 classrooms. The shortage of technology poses a problem because my students have limited time to work on projects or to complete assignments on Freckles Math without having another teacher ask us for the Chromebooks in the middle of a lesson. I would love to play a game of Kahoot as a math review before a test or as a wrap-up to my unit plans. Or how about the students who are struggling with the math, and I want to put them on KahnAcademy for supplemental support.
Wholly inequality my students live in a technologically advanced world but do not have unlimited access to technology in our math classroom.
By having the 8 Chromebooks or an entire cart in my classroom, my students can apply online to various high schools, check their grades on a regular basis, use software that will add more rigor to the curriculum, and be more competitive amongst their peers when it pertains to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). I hope that you choose my students as recipients to receive the gift of technology in the classroom. Thank you so much for your generosity.
