My 4th grade ELA classroom is full of students who are eager to learn. A typical day in my classroom is spent teaching a lesson on the skill we are focusing on that week; working in 5 small group stations. My students love to be active and prefer hands-on learning instead of sitting in their seat with papers.
My students are creative, clever, and persistent.
Our school can be described as a fun, caring and innovative environment for students to come to daily. Our students come from a very diverse range of home structures. I am unable to control their home lives, but I can control their time spent with me during the school day. I hope to inspire learners to continue on a path success.
My Project
With the Chromebook my students would be able to work on keyboarding skills that are becoming a necessity in today's world. My students write daily, and they would love to type their work to take home or display for others to see. Students would be able to access the Internet to research topics when working on projects or writing informational papers. Students could work in small groups on learning websites like IReady to help reinforce reading and language skills. My students will also be required to take their state test on the computer. I feel like working on the Chromebook doing the above activities will make all my students more comfortable using the computer.
A chromebook will help my students become better prepared for their future.
Technology is steadily growing. Students will be required to use it in life, and I feel it is important for them to know the proper way to use technology because it will benefit them through out their educational career.
