This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a room full of 21 active and creative 5 year olds. I started in this classroom after Thanksgiving and have been aiming to find all the materials that can help my students meet their potential. In Young Fives we are a full-time class preparing for kindergarten next year.
We come from different cultures, religions, and backgrounds and learn to work together successfully at school.
It can be challenging for such little minds to work hard and stay focused all day. These resources will help motivate them and give them a space to relax when they are upset, stressed, tired or sick. Your donations will mean the world my students from a Title 1 school.
My Project
This project is about the kids! It is hard for 4 year olds turning 5 during the year to go to school all day working on academics. Help me transform their room to a cool and inviting place where we don't need the harsh classroom lighting.
Students need a place where they can calm down if upset and cannot express their emotions.
They need to be taught coping skills along with social-emotional skills. How often do you need to walk away or take a break from difficult things? 4/5 year olds need that so much more than we do! They also need a place to be if they are not feeling well. I plan on creating that space with these items.
