My students are a wonderfully diverse group of kids who come from all over the world. My kids speak many different languages and many have become fluent in English after being in America for just a few years. Many of my kids have come from countries torn apart by war and countries plagued by violence.
Though many of my students come from the harshest of circumstances, they have a strong drive and passion for learning.
Each day they come to school with a positive attitude, despite the obstacles they must overcome. My kids are just amazing and truly appreciative of the opportunities that have been given. I am so proud to be their teacher and strive to provide them with the best learning experiences possible. Thank you for supporting my amazing kids!
My Project
Spoiler alert: kids love to read books when they are genuinely interested in them. This project is all about getting a variety of books that will get my kids interested in reading and keep them interested in reading. My students get to explore our classroom library whenever they need to for books that they want to keep in their book box for independent reading time.
It is my goal to have a classroom library filled with engaging books that will meet the needs of each student.
Not only do I want books that are interesting to a 4th grader, I want books that a 4th grader can learn from. In order to compile the perfect book list, I went straight to the source - the kids themselves! These books were selected by 4th grade students. I know my students will be excited to have these books easily available to them in our class to read. I know these books will inspire a love of reading for them.
