Help me give my students aprons, hats, books, and party cups for opportunities to learn about healthy habits, while also using the Engineering Design Process to problem solve!
My classroom is always buzzing. We are a very busy first grade class as we are always exploring and experimenting to answer inquiry based questions. I am hoping to add some great new features to my classroom to make learning even more exciting and flexible for all of my students.
As an engineering school for children, all of my students are scientists.
They are curious and have a strong desire to answer their questions through the engineering process and experimentation. They think deeply about problems and are great problem solvers who work together. They have a great sense of community among their peers, both older and younger. They truly are the vision of the future.
My Project
This summer will be FULL of exciting STEAM and healthy recipe making.
During my summer school class, my students will learn the importance of healthy eating choices when they create lots of yummy recipes!
This project will provide some, including aprons, hats, books, and party cups, of the necessary materials that we will need to make this happen. Students will have the chance to read many books about food, explore different flavors and foods with all five senses, create art projects using food, use the Engineering Design Process to create sanitary and convenient cooking supplies, and much more. All of the recipes will include lots of healthy foods that they will want to create again and again at home! Please help to bring health and wellness to lots of students this summer!
