This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember your first school experience? Perhaps you have just sent your own little one off to pre-k? Nothing makes me smile more than thinking about those fun and engaging classrooms filled with excited little learners.
I have the joy of working with an exuberant, energetic group of pre-kindergarten students in urban Title I schools.
As a special educator, I support several inclusion classrooms so all students with a variety of needs are able to learn together. Each day is an exciting adventure for our little learners!
My Project
My students love to play in the dramatic play center, and I love to have them playing! They learn so much socially and academically as they interact in dramatic play. I have them making alphabet soup or following a recipe. They serve food to the baby dolls and stuffed animals. Sometimes, they need to write a list and go grocery shopping.
The possibilities are endless...if we have kitchen furniture in dramatic play!
My students deserve a well-stocked kitchen to explore, but they need a new refrigerator, stove, and sink play set. If we provide the tools, their imagination will do the rest!
