Our school is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Our community relies heavily on the coal industry. Our small community was hit hard when coal started declining. School should be a fun place for students to escape the worries of everyday life. My students enjoy hands-on learning experiences. They love to participate in fun, innovative ways of learning new skills. Students should have every possible resource available to them to ensure they are successful in their academic career.
My Project
This project has two ways to benefit my students. My students just received iPads to use in the classroom and are so excited to utilize the apps and programs to enhance their learning experience. They would love to have ear buds to allow them to listen to instructions without bothering their neighbor.
We are transforming learning in the classroom by cooking up a new experience.
My students love to play games and do different activities. I am excited to try to transform the classroom experience to a bakery. They will forever remember getting to wear aprons and chefs hats while completing different tasks related to reading and mathematics. All students love to be rewarded for their efforts. My students have a favorite reward and it's bubble gum. They love to complete tasks and strive to meet goals for the offering of a piece of bubble gum. Learning is an adventure, and I hope to make my students' journey an exciting one that they will remember.
