My students need an all-in-one kitchen for dramatic play to let their imaginations soar.

I work with an amazing group of kindergarten students. In my kindergarten classroom, my students spend a majority of the day at their seats, completing class work. When it's center time, their faces light up and you can see the excitement in their eyes. They cannot wait to start their free choice time.
They are full of life, energetic, and enthusiastic about learning.
Each and every one of my students learns in a different way, and it is my job to help them reach their full potential. I have a wide range of students in my classroom, with the biggest populations being low income, at-risk students. Our school is the smallest in our district but, in my opinion, the most vibrant. Our staff goes out of their way to make every student feel respected, wanted, and loved.
In Kindergarten, a hands-on learning environment is critical. Children need an opportunity to interact with each other, play together and learn how to problem solve together. One way to promote positive interactions in the classroom is dramatic play. Dramatic play is an extremely valuable part of our Kindergarten curriculum.
An all-in-one kitchen will give my students the space they need to use their imaginations and practice positive interactions with peers.
The kitchen area will encourage much more than just play. It will help students build social-skills, practice expressive language, and differentiate between reality and fantasy. It is my job to encourage my students to be all they can be and a dramatic play kitchen is one way for me to do that.
