Many people know that cooking uses chemistry, but who knew that cooking appliances are used in a chemistry lab?
Many lab activities require students to "bake off" excess water in order to isolate one product. This is much more difficult at a school that does not have an accessible oven. But we can bring the kitchen into the classroom now with a high-tech gravity convection oven.
The students at this school have chosen to push themselves to get an AA and a high school degree at the same time. Having access to this technology will give them experience in a real lab setting, and the opportunity to do labs that otherwise could not be done.
Your donation will help these students study science in an exciting and innovative way, and will allow them to see the applications of science in every-day life. This kind of laboratory experience in high school will help them succeed in college and in the future.
