Continuing to Improve Our Skills and Focus for the Future
Help me give my students the fitness items, training poles and soccer balls to help improve our soccer skills, team fitness and our mental approach to the game of soccer.
My student-athletes attend a rural high school in a high poverty area, which received Title I support. For the most part, my team is a highly motivated group of young lades who come diverse family backgrounds, of diverse incomes but they are dedicated to their academics as well as their athletic success in soccer. With this equipment, we will be able to maintain our tradition of excellence we have established over the last several years by providing the top notch equipment to train and practice with during the season and in the off-season. This equipment will also help to improve the girl's self-esteem, encourage pride in their team and school. Also this equipment will be used to help the team (girl's) focus on areas in which they or the entire team were deficient in from previous seasons and to improve and growth from those deficiencies. These are items that our girls could not afford to purchase individually due to the high poverty rate in our school. We continue to compete for a conference championship in girl's soccer year in and year out as well as participate and advance in our states 1A soccer playoffs for the past four years (2016-2019).
My Project
Our project will help us to focus on and improve on our team deficiencies as well as our individuals deficiencies and help us strengthen and focus on the skills and abilities we have already mastered. The items selected will help with our team fitness, soccer technique (individually and as a team) as well as continue to improve our mental approach to the game of soccer. It will also help improve team speed, flexibility and allow each player more time with their own individual soccer ball daily during practice to ensure they get the full potential of our teams daily training sessions.
