This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
JRPLA ensures that our scholars thrive as leaders at home, in their communities, and in the world. Part of being a leader is being an overall well-rounded individual. Our school has a brand new auditorium and we are working on building our music and performance arts programs to be able to use the space. We currently have a High School Choir of about 20 scholars and are working on individual instrument lessons so we can have a band program in the near future.
My Project
We have a brand new auditorium that we want to show off to the whole community (when it is safe). The school is continuing to expand grades and currently has 7th-11th grades but should have 12th graders as well next year.
We have general music classes for our middle schoolers and are currently building our high school choir which has just over 20 scholars!
We also hope to have a band in the next year. Also, at least 30 of our scholars are interested in learning drums, so we will probably have a good sized drum line in the future.
