Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are kind, thoughtful and energetic learners. They enter the classroom as curious learners seeking to soak in the world around them. For many of my students, kindergarten is their first experience in a school community. I want to provide them with quality learning opportunities each day so they are excited to come to school. My students depend on me to teach them how to read, write, and develop problem-solving skills that will be the foundation of their education. These students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Their families qualify for free lunch and may not have the means to provide literature, manipulatives, and other educational tools at home.

My Project

Thanks to wonderful donors, our classroom has received several boxes of supplies and toys to bolster our learning. With the influx of materials, we need more shelves and containers to easily store materials. These shelves and containers will allow students to easily access any supplies or manipulatives they may need to assist in their learning. Having clear bins will help students build independence as they help to maintain a clean and organized classroom community.

Organized classrooms create a calm and safe environment where learning can flourish.

I strive to have an inviting classroom that will serve all students. The addition of these shelves and containers will help get our new supplies and toys off the floor and give us easy access to all we need as learners.
