Mrs. Aldridge from Hinesville GA is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need these pencil boxes with hands-on materials to participate in construction reading comprehension skills and the Wonder books will be used in an in-depth novel STEM unit.

My school is a Title I school with the highest level of low socio-economic students in a military community. I work with special education students in two inclusion classrooms, a kindergarten and first grade classroom.
Some students have never been out of their small town and some students have moved 2-3 times since they were born from one military station to another.
Some students only eat at school and others wear the same uniform shirt and pants over and over yet come to school just waiting to learn more about their world.
My students do not learn like the most typical learners. I have all ready purchased the Construction Reading curricula from Teachers Pay Teachers as it will allow them to practice reading skills with a hands on approach but I need assistance putting together the pencil boxes with the materials needed to work on the skills.
My students need to work with their hands and build things to make the skills more concrete.
These pencil boxes with the construction material will allow my students to make more brain connections that will allow them to retain the information for life.
I have also purchased a STEM Novel Study unit for the book Wonder and I would love to have my own set of the original and We're All Wonders for the lower grades to fully explore kindness and other reading skills with the students.
My students will learn to love reading time rather than loathe it with this project!
