This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My Kindergarten through 3rd-grade scientists attend a high-poverty school in Wisconsin. I am extremely fortunate to be their elementary science teacher, and I am the only science teacher in our district for this age group. Our school has a new lab, and the students go two times a week to participate in hands-on activities that explore life, earth, and physical sciences. They are also involved in STEM activities that explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. They are excited and eager to learn, and one day they may become scientists themselves.
My Project
Our science and STEM Lab is bustling with acitivities and projects. We create habitat dioramas, marble mazes, farm animal shelters, and that's just in one week! We need construction paper to keep up with the students' imagination and learning. The students work alone, in pairs, and in groups to create the projects. Your generous donation will allow us to create using the STEM process of communicating, planning, creating and improving. This paper will create a wealth of projects for every branch of science; life, earth, and physical. The students like having a choice of colors and sizes of construction paper for their projects and because we use a lot of brown, blue and green we need many sets of those colors.
