My students need Learning Resources Gears! Gears! Gears! to aide in their development while using their creativity to construct designs and build fine motor skills. They will use Fat Brain Squigz as a STEM focus.
My first grade students are diverse hands-on learners. These students, being in their early years of learning, are eager to work and learn through actively moving around the room. Working together in cooperative groups, with hands-on materials will promote positive interactions and enable them to form relationships. Engaging them in imaginative and educational tools allows students to learn from each other and problem solve. Using these manipulatives, my students will be on the road to becoming lifelong learners.
My Project
My students will use Fat Brain Rectangles and Learning Resources Gears! Gears! Gears! to invoke curiosity while building on their fine motor skills. They will be able to create geometric masterpieces that can easily evolve from simple to complex shapes. This project will enable my students to work cooperatively, build on their perseverance, and support problem solving. All the items in this project are STEM supporting tools allowing the students to work together to inspire mathematical thinking. The students will easily be able to use Fat Brain Toy Squigz to move about the room and learn through cooperative groups in a hands on manner that is developmentally appropriate for this age!
