My Students

I teach a class of fourth graders ready to collaborate and learn together every day. This is a diverse class of gifted students, English learners and some with special needs. Many students qualify for free lunches and attend our school breakfast program.

My classroom is student-centered and the kids love to use technology tools to dive deep into learning.

Due to underfunding of public schools, my students don't always have the tools they need to succeed. Despite the challenges, the parents are very supportive of the innovative teachers at our site.

My Project

Due to distance learning, it is becoming clear that our students need more Chromebooks. Our school had only two hours to implement distance learning before the school was closed. Students need to continue learning at home, while making connections with their teachers and classmates.

We do not have enough devices for every student.

Parents who are working at home need their devices throughout the day. Some families cannot afford a device at home for each child. I'm working to ensure that we have enough Chromebooks to continue our learning. We are unsure when we will return to school, but I would love to show the students our new Chromebooks when they return!
