My students need access to an LCD projector for presentations because currently we have two to share among nine teachers and 750 students with no money in the budget to buy one.
My 11th and 12th grade students range from AP level to general level in a small blue collar community. Preparing students for a rapidly changing world filled with technology is a challenge with a tight budget and no money for technology in my department budget. Students need access to both computers and projectors for 21st century presentations.
Students need to be literate not only in reading and writing but in visual literacy. They need to be able to create and present photo essays about their projects and achievements in both the AP classes and CP level classes to join the world's competitive work forces.
Having access to an LCD projector in the classroom daily will give students access to the outside world. It will allow them to create photo essays for themselves and their classmates. After visiting Walden Pond in Concord, MA, it will allow them to participate in a world wide project entitled Life with Principle sponsored by the Thoreau Society.
Your donation will make it possible for students in a small blue collar community to compete on a local and national level with their peers.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
