My Students

My students are energetic elementary school children who are learning in a world that is digital. They love to explore, to learn and to grow. The students at my school are from low economic backgrounds. They are primarily students whose parents are immigrants from other countries who speak a primary language other than English.

Our school is a Title I school, and it is 100% CEP (Community Eligibility Program), funded which means they all eat breakfast and lunch FREE.

My students work hard and they are eager to learn. Students enjoy learning with technology during school hours, however our school does not have the resources to provide each student with a computer. The technology needed can help students stay connected with teachers, complete assignments, complete projects, and do homework assignments.

My Project

I am requesting new Asus laptop to use during class. This computer will provide students instruction which uses visual aids to help them improve reading and comprehension of core subjects.

The Connecting with Technology project will provide low-income students with access to a device equipped with wireless internet at school.

Students will be able to access web-based subscriptions, participate in benchmark assessments which measure student growth and complete instructional activities assigned by teachers.

The goal of this project is to engage low-income students in a creative and collaborative environment by increasing access to technology and to develop and enrich technology skills.
