Our students are part of a rural middle school campus in Southeast Texas. The middle school has about 550 incredible students. While our students have a great variety of interests and backgrounds, they all enjoy and benefit from hands on learning!
Due to Hurricane Harvey, our students have experienced the loss of, not only their homes, but also our campus as well.
After being separated and displaced for 6 weeks after Harvey, our campus is together in our new portable Village. Students are excited and eager to recapture their lost learning adventures.
Students at HMS love to explore in the STEM world. We have been fortunate to have some STEM tools donated to our school library, but what is missing is the computers needed to assist the stem tools. We have Ozobots, but cannot use the coding site, Ozoblockly, due to not having computers. We also have a 3D printer but again, no computers to design the graphics with.
Hurricane Harvey destroyed our whole campus, including the 25 Mac computers that were to be housed in the Media Center. We would love to have a few computers in the new portable media center for students to explore and create with.
My Project
We would love to learn 3D Design and use our new 3D printer to showcase our design, but we do not have any computers in our school where students can go to do this. We would also like to program our new Ozobots with Ozoblockly but again, we would need a few computers to create code on.

Our campus has been able to acquire computers for Technology classrooms but these are filled by students who are enrolled in the Tech course.
The Media Center has updated to become a STEAM Center and thanks to many kind people, we have been able to acquire several STEAM tools but it is in need of a few laptops so maximize the STEAM experience with, as well as making the opportunity available for all students, not just those in tech classes.
