I teach a unique group of students who need more support than the regular classroom provides. The students have a mixed group of abilities from learning to read to reading to learn. In math, some students are learning basic computation while others are working on more difficult tasks such as fractions. We enjoy writing but often have difficulty with the actual task of writing.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
A variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options are used to ensure that each student's needs are met. One way they love to learn is through apps and programs on the computer. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a group of learners that are excited and ready to learn!
My students are all unique but have one thing in common; the love for technology. By supplying Microsoft Surface 3's for the classroom technology center, I can expand my student's learning by using educational apps. I can also take the students on virtual field trips to places beyond the classroom walls. They can learn about their neighborhoods, city, and state without the cost of field trips.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
We are in the era of technology and need to allow students to become 21st Century Learners. By providing electronics they can use in the classroom, we are bringing them into the 21st century.
