Three groups-three rooms and no portal for connection, our kids are feeling disconnected because we have grown so much that we had to have more space. We need to have a way to connect the third class to the main classroom. A webcam and sound would allow us to have that connection.
Our class is a special needs class with student who have significant disabilities.
They range from moderate cognitive disabilities to severe autism. We are in a alternative school that serves at risk students in rural community in Idaho that has a high poverty level. The students have various academic learning levels and needs. Many of our students are in a 19-21 transitional program.
My Project
Having access to a webcam with sound will allow the students in class number three to participate with the students in the main classroom. It will enable the teacher and staff to monitor both rooms jointly. Students will be able to use the webcam to Skype with students and teachers in other outlying buildings. The web cam will be beneficial in allowing parents and school personnel to observe students in the class without disrupting the student's learning process.
Being disconnected from their learning environment limits our students ability to access all of the beneficial instructions that can be offered to them through connecting portals.
Having the webcam will make them all feel part of the larger group environment even though they have to be in a separate location. Please help our students get connected with the virtual portal to the learning they deserve and need.
