Harmony despite the differences. This is what strives in a club that exists in our small school. My students come from different backgrounds, cultures and upbringings, yet manage to accept the diversity, learning to appreciate one another as human beings. Even though STEM teachings are critical nowadays, which is what our school mainly focuses on, I believe that cultural acceptance is equally important. This is what our Folk Dance Club promotes: valuing each and every culture as if it were your own.
My students are excited to learn, bringing every culture to life through dance.
Promoting an environment that can lead them to fight for each other, not against one another. In a world that is becoming increasingly interconnected, these are key elements that as teachers we must instill in our students. Also, they manage to learn what any art teaches: confidence and discipline. They are the future politicians, engineers and doctors of the world, and I hope that this gives them a stepping stone to enrich their path.
My Project
As teachers, we must provide the building blocks to prepare them for the outside world. From a young age, it is essential for them to learn about cultural awareness and diversity in this globalized world. Through dance, my students are learning how to appreciate many cultures and create a sense of unity between many backgrounds. This club also helps them create confidence, and as young women who are in the early stages of life, this is crucial to their development.
By donating to support this club, you will be helping the next generation of young, female leaders become culturally aware and ready for the challenges in the future.
These dresses do more than prepare them for the dance competition that they have in April, but encourage a healthy development of confidence and strength.
