Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is an all-boys tuition-free K-5 public charter school in Bradenton, Florida, where 99% of the students are living at or below the poverty line.

Our boys are charismatic, bright, and determined young men who enjoy hands-on opportunities to learn, building relationships, setting goals and reaching them.

They work with integrity, trust what they know when presented with a challenge, and shine while they are at school. They always rise to the challenges presented to them on a daily basis.

My Project

We've just received brand new technology and the kids will love using the laptops for research projects, playing games, reading online and being able to get comfortable anywhere in the room while using the devices.

Our supporters have given us wonderful gifts and we want to make sure that we will be able to enjoy the devices without worry of scratching, denting or damaging them.

The students in my class love a challenge, enjoy research and exploration and love learning in novel ways. While they are familiar with technology and devices, most of the kids need access to technology in the classroom to learn how to handle equipment properly, access information efficiently and enjoy success while exploring academic technology.

Donors have generously supported our classroom and have provided us with technology that we can use every day. If we can receive iPearl hard case covers for our Chromebooks we can ensure that the computers are protected, which will ensure that we can enjoy the benefits of academic technology for years to come.
