My Students

My students represent different cultures and languages and are part of a larger community of English learners. They are curious, creative, and always on the go!

They love using technology to read books, using interactive websites, and writing stories.

Our school is located in West Michigan and is one of many elementary schools that host several English learners. Our district alone has over 70 languages being spoken and about 30% population of English learners.

I strive to make the school the best place ever for them and they love to learn and grow daily!

My Project

My students need headphones to use with our Chromebooks; increasing engagement on websites like EPIC, Reading A to Z, and Seesaw! Listening is a critical component of language development, and students will benefit from the use of headphones. Many students come to school without supplies and headphones are often not part of the immediate purchases.

I have 13 language learners in my classroom and listening to their book along with reading a book increases motivation, engagement, and success!

We need headphones in order to do this! Your funding will help with a critical language development skill, and these headphones will be used continually.
