Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a title I school meaning our students come from low income families. I teach a 4th and 5th grade Special day class and at times my students can't afford all the materials or daily basics they need. My students are hard working and try to accomplish all their goals. It breaks my heart to know that the fifth graders will not be able to have a culmination ceremony this year. Also that the fourth graders will not get to say goodbye to their fifth grade friends.
It has been tough through distance learning but we all continue to do our best and have awesome attitudes.
We will finish our school year as best as we can and even when lacking some access to technology or basic necessities we will continue working hard.
My Project
These items will help make a difference by allowing my students to start middle school with a few necessary items. Some of my students’ parents have lost their jobs and are facing difficult times buying them a few presents for their graduation to take with them to middle school might make it so that the parents have one less thing to worry about.
My students will be so surprised with these basic things such as deodorant and pouches for their school supplies.
Just a small little present for their graduation that we will actually be unable to have.
