Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Currently, I have a total of 27 students in the classroom in which are both bilingual students and low social-economic status. They currently attend DWES located in McAllen, Texas. This two day Early Childhood Symposium will highlight the Opening Keynote: Eric Litwin as the featured speaker on the first day July 14th, opening featured speaker for day two is Mark Hartmann and closing keynote on the second day is Kathy Poelker.
Break-out sessions will cover information on "Robotics, Dyslexia, Autism, Behavior Challenges, STEM and STEAM, Early Literacy, Early Math, Early Science, Movement and Learning, Inclusive Practices, Supporting Development in Babies and Toddlers, and many others.
Instructional accommodations and modifications to support young children with special needs will be shared throughout the sessions to support all learners in accessing the general curriculum.
CEU's will be available for Early Intervention Specialists with ECI programs.
My Project
I will be given the tools to help my students in having the opportunity to work with my students need enhance the understanding of inclusive approaches and review accommodations & modifications to support young children cognitive development.
I will also be able to provide that support the social-emotional development in young children with challenging behaviors.
Provide information on how to support children with special needs to experience and interact across different environments such as inside and outside the classroom.
I will learn how to recognize how the brain and movement are connected to support learning in the early childhood classroom setting.
