Can you imagine trying to learn in the classroom, but having a very difficult time sitting still long enough to concentrate? Holding in all that motion is difficult and not conducive to learning. Help my kids stay healthy by moving and learning at the same time...without disturbing others!
I teach in a school where the children come from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and socioeconomic situations.
The majority of my students receive free or reduced lunch, which means their families are struggling financially.
Each year I typically have a few students with learning disabilities and speech needs. This year over half of my students speak English as a second language. What do they all have in common, despite these struggles? They LOVE learning and work hard to succeed! They deserve the very best resources possible to help them continue to work toward their learning goals!
My Project
Kids are active. Kids need to move and wiggle around. However...they also need to learn. How can we make this work? Hokki Stools! These stools would be wonderful for my guided reading/small group table. With these stools, my students would be able to be comfortable and concentrate, which translates to better engagement and learning. Movement without distracting others makes for an engaging, healthy learning environment!
I have several children whom really just can't help moving around constantly...Hokki Stools can help them continue to learn despite their need for constant movement (which often distracts them and others).
I want the very best for my students!
It's my job as their teacher to make sure they get the right resources to help them succeed...but I can't do it alone! I need help from generous donors like yourselves. By donating to this project, you'll be helping a wonderful class of 3rd graders concentrate, comprehend, and learn!
