Our class is an eclectic group of 7 and 8 year-olds with many different backgrounds and life experiences. They have a huge love of learning, strive to do their best and want to be role models for each other.
One of the greatest things about this group is their determination to understand concepts being taught and their willingness to support one another to reach their goals.
If a student is struggling to understand a topic, you are sure to find many students who offer their understanding and support to that student. Additionally, they are a close-knit group who look out for one another and try to do what's best for all - not just themselves. It is a true honor to teach this group!
My Project
Currently, our class shares one computer cart between 4 classes and many of these computers are 5+ years old and failing. My students get approximately 40 minutes of computer access two times a week - and that is to use a program required by the district.
When completing research projects, students need access to reliable, current data and information as well as the ability to know how to find this information.
Generally, students use out-dated science and history books from the library or ask me to research topics and print information from my teaching computer.
It is imperative that students have access to these online resources and learn how to navigate computers with 3 HP Chromebooks.
