Help me give my students with Autism, Chromebooks so they access multi-media, interactive instruction from sites like Education.com, Raz-kids, and iReady, so they can benefit from what these and many other educational sites have to offer.
My students are ages 6-9 and all of them are on the Autism spectrum. I have 9 boys and one girl. They all need to have academics modified to address their individual needs. They work well on computers, but I only have 1 that they all have to share. When I bring it out to work with one child, they all want one, so it doesn't get used very often. I would love to have one for each of them, but that isn't in the budget. If I had three computers, the one I have and two more, I could have a group of three at a time working on the computers, while the other students worked on other things.
The students I work with need to have access to online learning options, and this project would allow me to give more students access.
Our district is the largest one in the state and has many low-income families, so the district doesn't have the money for computers. Getting these two computers will be a huge help in giving my students the education they need.
My Project
My students are visual learners who work well with technology, unfortunately, our school is unable to provide that technology.
This project will allow me to provide individualized learning opportunities to my students with autism in a way that works well for them.
Please help me to give them the education they need and deserve by increasing their ability to access online learning. Because our school is in a poorer district, not all our children have access to computers. The world these children will grow up in requires the knowledge and ability to use computers. Help me to give my students access to all the wonderful learning opportunities available today, and prepare them for the future.
