My students need a chrome book to help them in so many ways. Most of my students do not have the access at home to the internet, being able to complete papers, or quiz themselves.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 7th grade science and 6th grade STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). I am struggling trying to let students either meet their needs or exceed them when they lack the technology at home. I would be able to give them more up to date information with technology in my room.
Most of my students are on free and reduced lunches.
Several have told me that they do not have acess to the internet or news programs at home. I teach mostly the traditional (regular) students and one Pre-AP (Pre-Advanced Placement). Our school has technology, but I usually have to check it out or wait for the computer lab to be available. Several of my students would benifit from having computer access so that they can further their knowledge, quiz themselves on material, or just being able to complete homework for my class or others. I do have students who are very smart and tend to finish their work early. They are in need of a challenge.
My Project
Computers would benifit my class in a multitude of ways. Most of my students do not have computer and internet acess at home so completing assignments is almost if not completely impossible. By having computers in my class, students can come to my room before school and complete homework for me as well as other teachers.
Computers would give my students access to current science information and research. Science is constantly changing and changing fast. Students need access to up to date information.
Having comptuers would give my students who finish quickly an outlet to study, test themselves on material, write papers, and watch videos on science related topics.
I would be able to give my students the real world skills they need by encorporating more technology and use of programs like Micrsoft products.
I would also be able to give my students the up to date science information that is critical to keeping my students interested in science. I would also like to challenge my students in new ways. I would also like to provide students who do not have access to internet or Microsoft products acess to these items.
