I teach 25 amazing 5th-grade students. These students are being taught in a 50/50 dual language program where half of the curriculum is instructed in Spanish and the other half is in English. They are mainly native English speakers.
This school is also an International Baccalaureate program.
They are instructed in a program that is taught around the world. The country that we will be focusing our focus on for International Day will be China! We can't wait to show you our learning as we delve into our international learning in two languages!
Students need to consistently research for their IB unit projects and essays. Having laptops provides a great opportunity for research and reading.
We don’t have much access to laptops or technology, so we would love to have two laptops in our own classroom to carry out our daily work.
Students love to research and also will have the opportunity to complete assigned work on sites such as Khan Academy and Read Works.
Students are also taught research skills that will help them not only now but also throughout the rest of their academic lives.
We hope to research units such as Civil Rights, Energy Consumption, and Astronomy.
